Whats in Rating

Welcome to earth. It sucks but you will enjoy. Since the baby take birth he get trap in vicious circle of Ranking and Rating. The innocent child, even though system of ranking and rating of child is are done in front of him, not able to understand. Feedback from others are in open but that child is too ignorant to understand any thing. There is difference between Ranking and Rating. When child is compared with other children of same age group then it is peer level ranking. But when child’s attributes are compared as per standard table for healthy child then that child is rated.

Every day , Every month, Every year after passing through all those ranking and ratings, finally child enrolled to school and real pain for him begins and pure model of ranking comes in play every 4/6 months. Children performance get evaluated based on marks they obtained in examination and children are ranked accordingly. This system is ongoing and as age will proceed term-logy improved to AIR (All India Rank) and it further improve to GPA (Grade) but all are same.

In my college though there was no ranking sytem but we engineers do get rated based on our grades (GPA). My HOD (Head of Dept) was the best example. He judge the problem of student based on his/her GPA. In my college 8+ grade was rated as Excellent and 9+ Outstanding. So problem of student with grade> 8 was problem and same will be entertained by our HOD and genuine problem of student with grade <>

My HOD first question “What is your grade?” oh 8.45, good.. have a seat , whats your problem... Ok 6, I have to take lectures and your problem is your grade. J

No wonder if some 9* have asked for permission to stay in Girl hostel, he might have arranged that also. But being a 9* how can he will have such wish and also the wish was not worth at-least in my collage :P

Rating in college was chill,we all were under impression that apart from cut off for company, no where this rating will matter. But we all were wrong. There is one exam CAT though it should be name as Bitch and it gives call for elite institute IIMs’. Here they will penalize you for what you have done a decade back. They do consider matriculation marks. Even Indian law declare people dead after 10 years if his/her where about etc is not found in this period but these Institute will show off their judging criteria as if MBAs are going to do research on AIDS medicine or will do some atomic fissions. Either these super brains has to befool campus guys (HR) or they will sell soap and oil in rural area (Marketing) or will do all kind of crap and shit on some graph and figure (Finance) and will provide their helping hand in growth (Lehman Bros) of company. These finance guys are worsts then Marketing, we expect fictions from marketing guys but if something BIG happen in world Economy, we will find termlogy from some fairy tale will pop ups from their mouth:- “Black Swan”. These institute are top RANKED and they wants top RATED students.

By pass this phase of study as I am lucky enough to not having luxury of that. So no such experience. Though every year I plan to buy lottery tickets but somehow manage to utilize money in better way.

Lets come to so called corporate world. Here every one is rated and not ranked. Also your rating do have monetary benefits, not like college. A rating system compares employee performance to some set of criterion, and produces either a number or a letter grade that supposedly represents the employee's level of performance. In organization every person have different goal, different objective, different complexity of work. So even if people are rated you are not sure whether he/she is accurately rated/under rated or over rated. Performance compared to vague criteria are unmeasurable. But whats in the RATING. You yourself is the better judge You may befool others by feeling your appraisal templates but you cant befool your self. Thus, come to office do you work, show your commitment and leave to home. If every day you are satisfied with the job you have performed then you are rated excellent inside you. Nothing is better than self satisfaction. Don’t strive for rating but do strive for better performance. Whatsoever you are doing, do with excel (not MS office product) Growth (Position+ monitory) is trap and is nominal. There is always a company that will give you more then what you are getting and will promise to give better job. I cant guarantee about JOB in offsore model but yes monetary raise will be good. Why to put so much effort to get less increment. If monitory benefit is the only factor then there is always a company
that will give you raise (5 to 10 times more the % of increment)

In common MNC structure, its very difficult to rate person based on the fixed criterian and thesame time mixing pseudo Ranking system to compare it in Peer. Measuring the un-measurable task on some scale are prone to accounting errors. Perception of every Individual are different and “Performance lies in the eye of beholder”. Though we all know, there should be no discrimination on the basis of caste creed, race, sex. But what about growing professional discrimination in this cut throat competition.

I agree, everyone wants to know hows he doing. Ask this to yourself and your inner heart will give your answer why to depend on other who will just narrate his perception and rate you rank you against your peer and bash you as*. But if you want to know-how well you pretend that you are working … then definitely you need second party.

Don’t do things just for ratings. Do the things for your inner satisfaction. Don’t care about nature of JOB. Put your cent percent effort, commitment on task. It is always good to do what you love but nothing is wrong in loving what you are doing. “Just do it”.

Enough of crap reading. Now get back to your work to get good rating J

(Corporate lecture- to be continued……………..)

Disclaimer: This is totally my view of writing. I completely agree with present rating Now this is what I am doing for my professional rating. hahaha Hypocrate- Isnt it :P. But one have to be.. no body knows who all are reading this when its on internet.

Ye Bharat desh hai mera

The different colors, peerless culture and tradition of the people, music of age old instruments, are the traits which defines the beauty of entire region. For last two Quarters, I am on move exploring many parts of Country including town to metros. I have used many means of transport, faced many challenges and had great enjoyment and experience. My journey includes standing in sitting class general boggy of railway for 6 hoursand traveling 2500 Kms in 2 hours by sky route. I have been to Ernakulum(Cochin) to Gudgaon (Haryana). Met many people. Had conversation with Locals, Drivers, Priests and Agents.

I got opportunity to visit Meenakshi Temple. The temple forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old city of Madurai The temple is a significant symbol for the Tamil people, and has been mentioned since antiquity in Tamil literature. From Madurai I went to Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is an island that is located in the Ramanathapuram District of Tamilnadu, southern state of India .This is a one among the holiest places in India which is considered as equivalant as to Kasi, the famous holy place in North India. It represents the southernmost of the 12 Jyotirlingams of India.Though it is called as Kasiof south but minus HINDI.

Bangalore itself is surrounded by many sightseeing places. That includes Ooty – Queenof Hill station. Ooty is deep within the Nilgiri hills, also known as The Blue Mountains. It is unknown whether this name comes from the blue smoky haze given off by the eucalyputus treesthat cover the area, or because of the kurunji flower, which blooms every twelve years giving the slopes a bluish tinge. The Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp is located on the banks of river Cauvery, home to the ‘Mahseer’ - the largest tropical sporting fish known. The resort follows eco-tourism, and practices ‘catch-and-release’.

I stayed almost 1.5 years in City of Nizam. Hyderabad has developed into one of the major hubs for the IT industry in India which has earnedit the additional sobriquet "Cyberabad". Hyderabadi cuisine is a blend of traditional South Indian,Mughal and Persian cuisine. Hyderabadi Biryani is an iconic dish of the region. Hyderabad is known as the city of pearls, lakes and, lately, for its IT companies Historically, Hyderabad has been the city where distinct cultural and linguistic traditions of North India and South India meet. Telugu and Urdu are the principal languages spoken in the city.

Moving towardswest, I reach to Maharashtra. The word Maharashtra comes from Sanskrit words Maha meaning Great and Rashtra meaning Nation, thus rendering the name Maharashtra (Great Nation). But some political party is presenting it as other way round Of course why not ,after all Great Nation is in Sanskrit and not in Marathi. State consist of cities like Mumbai: Financial hub ofIndia, Pune, Nasik. There are several religious places that includes Sirdi, Triambekeshwar(Nasik) andBheemashankar(Pune). State has its own charm with Marathi being the first language.

Ujjain is an ancient city of Malwa region in central India, on the eastern bank of the Kshipra river and a part of the state ofMadhya Pradesh. City is full of temples with Mahakal Temple as biggest attraction.

Moving further towards north will bring capital of India- Delhi, known locally as Dilli and by the official name National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is is the largest metropolis by area. Owing to the migration of people from across the country, Delhi has grown to be a multicultural, cosmopolitan metropolis. Its rapid development and urbanisation, coupled with the relatively high average income of its population, has transformed Delhi into a majorcultural, political, and commercial centre of India

Last but not least lets reach to east. Kolkata is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. Kolkata is the cultural capital of India and the commercial capital of Eastern India, located on the east bank of the Hoogly River . Kolkata has long been known for its literary, artistic and revolutionary heritage. As the former capital of India, Kolkata was the birthplace of modern Indian literary and artistic thought. Kolkatans tend to have a special appreciation for art and literature; its tradition of welcoming new talent has made it a City of Furious Creative Energy.

Though India is rich in culture and heritage and many more areas are yet to be explored, still I have gained mixed experiences from places I traveled. In south of India where Hindi is rudimentary language, Ihave seen people trying to help you either by using English as means of communication or using raped Hindi/English depending on person. Whether its Cochin or Madurai or Rameshwaram or Hyderabad, locals try to communicate with you in language you are comfortable and thus make your day peaceful.

At Pune, I with my friend went to fort of Shivaji which is approx 30Kms from way we took help of locals in exploring the place. Though some political party are against hindi but locals where too good to help us by communicating the path in hindi. The things make life easier and day full of njoyment. But I really feel difficulty at place which is 6 hrs from my home town. Yes Kolkata, I got a feeling of alienin this place where I came without translator. A real lifeexample, I asked a lady (who is having ID of India’s largest IT firm) aboutaddress in English and she replied sweetly in Bengali and didn’t stop even seeing BLANK expression on my face. I am afraid, she must be running MATLAB code in “C” compiler. Most disappointing part was, she was pointing to wrong direction but I was confidence about direction as I washaving highest IQ and directionsense in 100 mtrs of radius.

Then I asked to shop keeper in hindi but got same reply in pure bangla. Finaly I found a gentleman in tuxedo flaunting his Blackberry and I asked the address, gently to that gentleman in English but again got same answer in Bengali. I agree Bengali is ranked as sweetest language but adding extra sweet do give burning sensation to throat.

Finally I boarded BUS (whose engine sound was giving warning messages and same was attested by shaking body) and asked conductor the same address by replacing “a” with “o” and lil bit of twisting of tongue to please the ears of conductor and to my surprise he replied “aath taka (Rs 8) “ as I am selfproclaimed intelligent and my trick works. So moral is, you cant njoy “City of Joy” without any Roy with you. Being metropolitan city for more than 2 decades, one should now have to change the mentality (from local to global). Don’t use English or hindi in your literature, just please britishers (videshi) but use the same to help common man. Do remember, we the citizen of Bharat are “Adhinayak” of this country and we the youth are “Bharat bhagya vidhata”

Seeing the economy. Resource and nature of politics, the city would had been Shanghai of India. The only reason for being nominated as metro was port. There is city like Hyderabad and Pune , which are having attributes and are ready to inherit the title of Metro.

I am not against any place, people or region. I have respect for every entity of my country but I want to make people understand that though we have many culture, religion and language but still in order to stay united we should have primary string that may include language. We don’t need any “Idea” to stay/roam in our own country. The things which we need are honesty, heart and harmony. Practice 3H and say proudly : “Sare Jahan se achcha Hindostaan Hamara”.

"Jahan Dal Dal pe sone ki chidian karti hai basera.. ye bharat desh hai mera"
